Sanctuary Cities Are Absolutely Ridiculous!

CNN describes a sanctuary city as

a broad term applied to jurisdictions that have policies in place designed to limit cooperation with or involvement in federal immigration enforcement actions. Cities, counties and some states have a range of informal policies as well as actual laws that qualify as ‘sanctuary’ positions. Most of the policies center around not cooperating with federal law enforcement on immigration policies. Many of the largest cities in the country have forms of such policies.

It literally says it word for word. Sanctuary cities defy federal law! If you (the city/state) receive federal funding then you have to comply with federal law. No exceptions. Why have laws if they can be broken without consequences?

The policies of these cities prevents police from investing, questioning, and arresting illegal immigrant. The city police officers cannot arrest undocumented immigrants for illegal entry. That is absolutely absurd!

And finally, theses sanctuary cities harbor criminals and create dangerous environments. The most infamous example of this is the murder of Kate Steinle. In 2015, the ICE officials were forced to let this undocumented immigrant free because of San Francisco’s sanctuary city laws. This man had already committed several felonies and been deported several times. This undocumented immigrant then murdered Steinle. Absolutely ridiculous! This man took advantage of the system several times and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING has been done about it. This madness needs to stop.

Bills (like Kate’s Law) have been created in legislative branches to try to combat this and none have gotten passed. How many more crimes and murders will take place until action? The world may never know. Maybe defunding these sanctuary cities is a good idea to apply some pressure on the cities to start making a change.
